    Eleanor Joy 4 Month Session

This was a deeply sweet session to shoot for my dear friend Libby, and her little girl Eleanor. She’s a true sunshine baby, a rainbow baby. What a beautiful time I had capturing these in her beautifully decorated nursery!

  • Elsie Newborn Session

    Elsie Newborn Session

Such a joy to take these newborn photos for my friend Meredith!! I brought her chai from Brakemans, and we chatted while the fluffiest kitty stared me down by the front door. Elsie’s sweet older sister so wanted to “take care of baby E” and melted all our hearts with her tender joy! Congratulations to Meredith & Graham!

Such a deep special joy to shoot these newborn portraits for my niece like I did for her two older brothers! We love our little redhaired girl, and are so so grateful she’s here. Congratulations to my sister & brother in law!

  • Newborn Session: Ezra Langston

    Newborn Session: Ezra Langston

     Flowood, Mississippi

The very first day of 2019. All the world was sleeping off their New Year’s Eve celebrations, and
a little tiny baby boy with dark curls was sleeping and probably dreaming about milk, all 4 days new.
With the most kissable lips, perfect nose, handsomest little features and cuddliest self….we were all in love.

The first time big brother Wynn held Langston, & all our hearts exploded.
The first time taking pictures as a family of 4. Cuddling together on the couch, airplanes on the floor,
laughter & kisses, Wynn’s face being a WHOLE MOOD, Langston wrapped in J’s hair wrap fabric from Zambia, the books by Ezra Keats & Langston Hughes in pictures with him, Jasmine trying to claim she wasn’t photogenic, the most perfect baby swaddle, sunshine pouring through the doors, lullabies playing on my phone, and the loveliest morning to take these images I love so much of my dearest people.

What utter joy the first day of 2019 was for me, and every day since knowing Langston is one of the
CUTEST and most precious parts of my life forever now. Love him & his family foreverrrrrrr. What a gift he is!!

  • Newborn Session: Sebastian Peter

    Newborn Session: Sebastian Peter

December 10, 2018 ~ Deep in the Heart of Texas ~ Newborn Session: Sebastian Peter

Introducing a very special session that will forever be one of my favorites
for the best reason: It’s my second nephew! Introducing Sebastian Peter –
    Born at 1:47am on December 5, 2018, weighing 8lbs, 21″ long
after 4 hours of labor by my amazing and strong sister.

Big brother Clark was so gentle and careful with holding “his” little baby Sebastian, and yes,
I had ALLLLL the feelings photographing Sebastian in the same crib I took pictures of Clark in!!
Oh my heart. Wow, family will forever be precious, and that’s why you’ll see all of us in this post!!
It was so important to me to document each of us in my family with our special & so much loved wee little one.
Needless to say, Sebastian holds all our hearts forever until the end of time!!

“When I hold you, when I hold you, little darlin’,
your hopeful eyes will light my darker days.

One little heart, and my whole world
    starts to grow
     in wonder and grace.
    I didn’t know I could love a soul
before I even knew their name.”

    {thanks so much, Peter, for taking this one of all of us so we have a family picture!}

  • Newborn Session: Madelyn

    Newborn Session: Madelyn

The day after Thanksgiving, I wake up singing Christmas carols and am in full blown Christmas mood,
so photographing little Miss Madelyn in her home and under a Christmas tree was pure MAGIC.
I originally was on call for her birth for weeks and weeks and she decided to come late and
when I was very much in Texas for a wedding. *hahahaha*

    This is why you get the best backups in this business;
I knew I was leaving them in great hands with Melissa at Benzel Photography
and thanks to her work, they have amazing images! Thank you, Melissa!!
Madelyn is so so precious, and has the sweetest family who loves her so very much.
Congratulations again, Loeffler family!! Such a joy photographing your life.

  • Newborn Session: Gene

    Newborn Session: Gene

Ever since I’d 2nd shot their wedding, and taken family Christmas pictures for them, I knew Sean & Patricia were longing for a baby. Lives were busy, jobs were full, and yet they waited and prayed, cried, waited and prayed, and then one day…they were pregnant! 3 weeks before his due date, little Gene arrived, weighing a whole 6lbs. 9 oz.

Watching Sean & Patricia rejoice over him, love him so deeply, cherish his preciousness, faces radiant….
it was incredibly sweet, and I love being able to share these newborn images with you!

I have to jump in here to share a brief heart-moment.

    This little baby boy?
He was named for his great granddaddy who died a few short weeks short of Gene’s arrival.
In honor of the great man he was, Sean & Patricia changed baby’s name to his granddaddy’s.
“Gene” for Eugene. “Michael” for his Daddy (Sean), and Granddaddy’s middle names. It fits him.

I took this picture watching him sleeping gently in the morning sun’s rays that filtered through the crib that
Gene’s Daddy’s Daddy made for his babies to sleep in (all 4 did), and that beautiful blue blanket that
Gene’s GrandMimi made for Sean cradling him so close. The blue blanket that made Gene’s Mama
burst into tears upon seeing it at the baby shower.

The best way I can describe images like this and the stories behind them is feeling “the fullness of full circle”
and the God Who is faithful to all the generations. This baby, so longed for, so waited for,
bearing his great granddaddy’s name, and swaddled up in the love of generations before him.
It’s enough to make an emotional photographer cry with the wonder of it all.

(those baby bear pictures had Patricia and I just….gone.
We were squealing and loving every single moment. LOVE)
Eugene Michael Lunceford, we’re so very glad you’re here.
Congratulations, Sean & Patricia on the arrival of your son!

  • Newborn Session: Clark Viret

    Newborn Session: Clark Viret

March 30, 2017 ~ Deep in the Heart of Texas ~ Newborn Session: Clark Viret

Shooting this newborn session was a dream come true for me, because it was my very own nephew!
I teared up a few times shooting the little details, because it was my own history too,
and seeing prayers come to fruition meant more than I can say. We’re just SO happy he’s here.

But apparently Baby Clark thought I was getting complacent in my newborn sessions,
and decided to throw me for a loop, instead of a calm 2 hour session, he stretched it into an all day affair,
with lots of snuggle time, swaddling, lullabies, music playing in the background, and really only settled
into the whole photography thing when his Daddy walked through the door that evening (go figure).

Still, they’re some of my favorite lifestyle baby pictures I’ve ever taken. So thanks, Clark, for pushing my art. 😉

Introducing Clark, photographed at 10 days old.

“When I meet you, when I meet you,
little darling, when I meet you,
all the grays will change to colors in my eyes.

When I meet you, when I meet you,
little darling, when I meet you,
all the colors lacking luster, they will shine.

One little heart and my whole world
starts to grow in wonder and grace.

    I didn’t know I could love a soul
before I even knew their name.”

    {Jenny & Tyler}

Watching my sister become a Mother is one of the most incredible things I’ve ever been privileged to witness.
Every tender touch, every baby cry heard and responded to, the softest and most gentle of voices to her little son. Likewise, watching Ben become a Daddy has been the most natural and loving transition. Just as it should be. They’re the sweetest little family, and I’m so honored to call them part of mine. I love them so much!
Welcome, Clark, you are so very loved and so very dear.

  • 1 Year Session: Asher Burnett

    1 Year Session: Asher Burnett

    March 13, 2017 ~ Mims, Florida ~ 1 Year Session: Asher Burnett

One year ago, I was in China, and one morning I got up and in a brief brilliant moment of Chinese wifi,
I excitedly discovered that little man Asher had been born, healthy and darling. As soon as I got home, we shot his newborn photos!! And this past week, 1 year later….we got together to shoot his little 1 year old session!

His Mama was pretty certain he would smash right into the cake she’d made him the night before…
but to our confused laughter, he decided he really couldn’t be bothered, and after 4 icing bites,
decided he’d swear off sugar for the rest of his life and just laugh at us instead. I didn’t mind that at all!
He is such a joy and a precious little guy. Love him and his family! Happy 1st Birthday, Asher!
