Shot some of the most important photos of my whole career in 20 minutes on a March morning.
It's Ron and his sweet wife Jerri. It was couples photos in their Florida backyard, where they've lived as long as I've known them: waltzing, hugging, kissing, laughing...holding their wedding photo & holding onto a lifetime of memories.
Growing up, Ron was the guy at church who made every single kid including me love the outdoors since he worked at the wildlife refuge. Snakes weren't scary, gators were part of our world, birds were magic, and he could answer any question you've ever had about wildlife. These days he's been embarking on a much scarier and formidable journey through cancer.
I asked them if they'd like to slow dance even though it was a briskly cold morning. "Do you need some music?" I asked, ready to pull out my phone. "Nah", Ron replied and began humming a tune as he started a slow waltz, holding his sweet bride.
All our hearts are with you, Ron & Jerri. Thank you for the honor of capturing these for you both! May God give you so many more good years and good moments together. We love y'all.
