September 6, 2014 ~ DeLand, FL ~ Maternity Session: Emily
On a rainy Saturday in September 2014, I had the honor and joy of taking maternity pictures of my
dear friend, Emily, combined with a family session. It was by far the most relaxing, laid back session,
and produced some of the most amazing images I’ve ever shot. I just love these pictures!!!

For this part of the shoot, we used the lace overlay from her wedding dress to cover her belly,
and y’all – I love these images so much I’ve cried real tears of joy over them. It was perfect.

I looked in the viewfinder, didn’t even take the picture, I just sat back and stared at Emily. She said “What?!”
at the strange look on my face. I said I didn’t know whether to shriek or burst into tears, that I’d just seen
“The Shot”. She said “Oh! Let me see!” and I said “I haven’t even taken it yet!” but I knew.
It was IT, and I knew it. Perfection.
The whole day was my favorite, but these? These are what I want to shoot all the time.
Rainy day, tea, knitting baby’s blanket, pregnant mama, maternity pictures.
Snuggly, real life, grace-filled, peaceful moments like these.
